Pre Ballet (Must be 3 by September 1st, 2016)

This class is an extension of our Tiny Toes program with the introduction of basic ballet steps. Students continue to explore dance and their own creativity in a more structured yet positive environment. This section begins to focus on beginning level skills, identifying right and left, connecting skills, storing information, and laying the ground work for a lifetime love of dance. We will continue to use playful dance exercises and props at this level.

Class Attire

  • Solid colored leotard
  • Pink leather ballet shoes
  • Solid colored tights are optional
  • Skirts that are permanently attached to the leotard are acceptable
  • Hair must be pulled up and out of the dancers face

Primary 1 Ballet (Kindergarten)
Primary 2 Ballet (1st Grade)
Primary 3 Ballet (2nd Grade)

Our Primary classes are based on the Cecchetti syllabus and are designed for the attention span of dancers this age. This is an excellent way to build a solid dance foundation as well as explore dance and music in a fun atmosphere. This is a system with careful regard for the laws of anatomy. It is designed to endow the body with all the qualities essential to the dancer including balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity, etc. Each level provides attainable goals that build self-confidence in their developmental progress and successful achievements. Students enrolled in these classes may be given the opportunity to take examinations in late June at the discretion of their instructor.

  • Black ballet skirts are allowed but no shorts
  • Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun only!

Ballet (Ages 8-18)

Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. Progress is made gradually requiring repetition of basics and introduction of new steps to develop strength, correct alignment, technique, and musicality. Our ballet program is a blend of Russian (Vagonova), Cecchetti (Italian), French and Balanchine styles. To be eligible for Ballet 3 level class or higher students must be enrolled and attending a minimum of two ballet classes each week the Cecchetti ballet class may be taken as a second ballet class.

  • Matching colored ballet skirts are allowed but no shorts
  • Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun only!
